Delta-Function Potential with a Complex Coupling

چکیده
We explore the Hamiltonian operator H = − d2 dx2 + z δ(x) where x ∈ R, δ(x) is the Dirac delta function, and z is an arbitrary complex coupling constant. For a purely imaginary z, H has a spectral singularity at E = −z2/4 ∈ R+. For R(z) < 0, H has an eigenvalue at E = −z2/4. For the case that R(z) > 0, H has a real, positive, continuous spectrum that is free from spectral singularities. For this latter case, we construct an associated biorthonormal system and use it to perform a perturbative calculation of a positive-definite inner product that rendersH self-adjoint. This allows us to address the intriguing question of the nonlocal aspects of the equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian for the system. In particular, we compute the energy expectation values for various Gaussian wave packets to show that the non-Hermiticity effect diminishes rapidly outside an effective interaction region. Investigating the Longitudinal Optical Conductivity in Three-Layer Graphene Systems with Composes Mono-Bi-Bi and Bi-Mono-Bi and Bi-Bi-Mono
The longitudinal optical conductivity is the most important property for graphene-baseddevices. So investigating this property for spatially separated few-layer graphene systems analytically and numerically is the main purpose of our study. Each layer can be mono- or bi-layer graphene. The density-density correlation function has been screened by the dielectric function using the random p...

متن کاملSynchronization analysis of complex dynamical networks with hybrid coupling with application to Chua’s circuit
Complex dynamic networks have been considered by researchers for their applications in modeling and analyzing many engineering issues. These networks are composed of interconnected nodes and exhibit complex behaviors that are resulted from interactions between these nodes. Synchronization, which is the concept of coordinated behavior between nodes, is the most interested behavior in these netwo...
متن کاملDynamic Analysis of A Three-Rotor Flexible Coupling with Angular Misalignment
In this paper, the dynamic response of a three-rotor flexible coupling to the angularmisalignment has been studied. The coupling is a power transmission agent between the motor andgearbox, in the power transmission system of SAG Mill (semi autogenously mill) in the Gol-e-Gohariron ore complex in Sirjan, Iran. Degrees of freedom of the system are the model's lateral deflectionsand the rigid-body...
متن کاملComplex Point Interactions
A curious feature of complex scattering potentials v(x) is the appearance of spectral singularities. We offer a quantitative description of spectral singularities that identifies them with an obstruction to the existence of a complete biorthonormal system consisting of the eigenfunctions of the Hamiltonian operator, i.e., − d dx2 +v(x), and its adjoint. We establish the equivalence of this desc...
